Florida Boater Improvement Program Grant
After interviewing three people, we have retained Jack Horniman to assist us in preparing the FBIP Grant application and supporting documents.  The application is due to FDEP April 9th.

Code Changes and Comprehensive Plan Update
We have engaged Jim Fleischmann to assist us with several code changes and the annual update to the Comprehensive Plan (Comp Plan).  Specifically, he will be helping us adjust our codes to address medical marijuana sales and dispensing facilities, senior assisted living facilities in residential areas, and extended parking in residential areas.  This year we are required to modify our Comp Plan to incorporate certain pertinent sections of the South Florida Water Management District’s Lower East Coast Water Supply Plan (LECWSP).  We must include components in our Comp Plan that ensure we have a sustainable water supply for our current and future customers.  Finally, he will incorporate our five-year CIP into the 2015 Comp Plan update.

New Water Customer in Seminole Manor
Maralago Cay has informally requested the Town of Lake Clarke Shores to provide its approximately 200 customers with water.  We have asked for a written request from the Corporation. Once received, the Town will begin the design process to get water to them and renegotiate an agreement with Palm Beach County for additional bulk water.  We are assuming Maralago Cay will want to be a bulk customer.

FRDAP Grant for Community Park Update
Mr. Murphy and the Parks Committee have chosen the exercise equipment for Community Park.  Only two vendors provided the specific equipment; however, we got two bids and issued a purchase order.  The equipment will be shipped to an installation contractor for a “factory installation”.  The FRDAP Grant also included money for sod for the soccer field and we are working with a contractor on a piggy back agreement with Palm beach County School District for the purchase and installation of 20,000 square feet of sod.

SSSS – “See Something, Say Something”
Help us improve the look of the Town.  If you see something that needs attention, send us an email and we’ll look into it.  The email address is  Staff is implementing a new electronic way of responding to and tracking work orders and requests for service.  Officers on patrol, the COP’s, and Utility staff drive through Town all day.  They see things which could be fixed or improved but our current paper “work order” system has made it difficult to document, track, and get results.  Using email, we believe reporting can be easier.  We will now have the ability to monitor, recall, and analyze our work order activities.  We’re calling it “See Something, Say Something” and we expect to engage the residents at the BBQ.  The Town will have a table where we will be providing information about
