The Drug Crisis

In the attached video, please find a clip of Congresswoman Lois Frankel asking the Bipartisian Heroin Task Force to look into the issue of black-market fentanyl and its ingredients being brought into the US.  Dr. Nora Volkow, Director of the National Institute of Drug Abuse, confirms that much of the fentanyl in the U.S. is coming from China.  This was a hearing focused on the science and treatment issues behind synthetic opioids, such as fentanyl.

This is an unfortunate epidemic that is affecting not only those using the drugs and their families, but the communities and doctors and first responders treating those that are overdosing.  Congresswoman Frankel is appealing to the State Department to stop the importing of fentanyl to the US from China.
