Proper drainage will help reduce the risk of flooding. The Town of Lake Clarke Shores Utility Department employees regularly inspect the Town’s drainage system, which includes storm drains, easements and canals, for obstructions caused by debris such as fallen trees, trash, and other items.

Residents need to do their part to keep the drainage system clear of debris that could impede the flow of water. It is illegal to dump trash, vegetation, or debris of any kind into the canals, lakes or storm drains. Do not place any of these items on the storm drains. Residents of property that abut waterways are required to keep the portion of property between the property lines and six feet (6’) in the water clean of all debris. Grass must be mowed and groundcover maintained. Trees must also be kept trimmed between the water and eight feet (8’) above the water.

Report illegal dumping to the Town’s Police Department by calling the non-emergency dispatch center at 964-1114.
