ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL COASTAL CLEANUP
September 19, 2015 8:00 AM – NOON
Lake Clarke Shores, together with Keep Palm Beach County Beautiful, will be a host site for the Ocean Conservancy’s International Coastal Cleanup. We will be holding a Waterway Cleanup at Boat Ramp Park (Boat Ramp - Barbados Road) on Saturday, September 19th from 8:00 AM to 12 noon. Our goal is to remove debris from the waterways in Town to prevent plastic bottles, Styrofoam and other debris from reaching the intracoastal waterways and the ocean.
Volunteers with boats of all kinds are needed to remove debris and recyclables from the waterways. Pedestrians are needed for the shorelines. We also need volunteers to unload the boats and sort the recyclables at the boat ramp. Gloves, plastic bags, grabbers and sunscreen will be provided to all volunteers. We highly recommend that volunteers wear hats and use sunscreen.
Registration and release forms may be downloaded below. Originals must be returned to Town Hall or brought to Boat Ramp Park the day of the cleanup.Registration will be held at the Lake Clarke Shores Boat Ramp Park at 8:00 AM or you can register early at Town Hall to be eligible to receive a door prize. Students can earn Community Service hours during this event. Please bring your Community Service form with you on Saturday morning so that we can complete the form at the end of the event.
Mayor Shalhoub’s Smokin Gator BBQ will provide lunch at Town Hall for all workers immediately after the cleanup at noon.
