Debris Collection continues throughout Town and to date, they have collected over 4,700 yards. While we are aware of the inconvenience of the remaining debris in your yards and we wish the debris collection could go faster, it steadily is being collected.
Five companies were contracted by Palm Beach County, which are also working all over the State of Florida, were working in Texas and now will be pulled into Louisiana. The use of certain, qualified disaster response companies, in our case Phillips and Jordan, ensures we maximize our reimbursement from FEMA in hopes that our tax payer dollars are utilized appropriately. Not using the appropriate haulers, and going through the appropriate channels, processes and procedures would have costs the Town well over $100,000.
We do expect the contractors to be done by the end of the week and we will continue to keep you updated.
