POLICE DEPARTMENT
Bicycle Patrol Unit

Following an extensive and highly structured training regimen a Bicycle Patrol Unit, comprised of two Officers, has been instituted. These Officers, who will normally ride singly, but can, as the need arises, ride as a pair, have been qualified for patrol duties within the Town. As the Town of Lake Clarke Shores is approximately one square mile these Officers can respond to any location in a time frame which does not greatly increase standard response times. The Bicycle Patrol Unit allows for a greater citizen-officer interaction. It also permits the officers to see the Town from a different perspective, while enabling them to get to areas they might not have access to using a patrol vehicle.
