The Town has Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) available for review at the Town Hall. This map shows the flood zone designation for properties located within the Town limits. Town staff is available to answer your questions concerning flood zones, special flood hazard areas and other flood information. Elevations Certificates

Certificates of Elevation and Finished Floor Surveys are required for all new construction. An existing building must meet the same construction standards as a new building if the cost for each new addition, and/or substantial renovation to a residential property during a 5-year period equals or exceeds 50% of the building market value. These certificates are necessary to be in compliance with floodplain management ordinances and to determine proper insurance premium rates by the FEMA. Copies of elevation certificates that have been submitted to the Town since 1994 can also be obtained from the Building Department at Town Hall.
