Don't forget to get your permit. It could cost you!

If you are doing work to your home, remember that with VERY few exceptions, the work requires you to obtain a permit from the Town.

Working without a permit could not only be dangerous, but also expensive. Penalties are many times the cost of a permit. Meanwhile, insurance companies that discover unpermitted work will often not issue a policy. If you have a policy, and the insurance company discovers you have unpermitted work, they may not pay out on your claim.
