Boards and Committees

Residents have always been a big part of government in the Town of Lake Clarke Shores. Boards and committees are created by ordinance or resolution. Quasi-judicial boards decide cases whereas advisory boards provide advice and recommendations to Town staff and Town Council. Board and committee members are appointed by resolution of the Town Council.

Board members must be residents of the Town who volunteer for such service. Board members may serve on only one non-advisory board at a time, but can serve on multiple advisory boards. Board members may also concurrently serve on a non-advisory board and on an advisory board.

The Board and Committee Application is below and can also be requested electronically, in person or by phone from the Town Clerk. Applicants must submit their completed applications and resume of qualifications to the Town Clerk for review by the Town Council and staff.

The Town has the following boards and committees:

  • Code Enforcement Board (non-advisory/quasi-judicial) meets on the 4th Wednesday of the month;
  • Zoning Board of Adjustment (advisory) meets as needed on the 3rd Wednesday of every other month;
  • Infrastructure Surtax Citizen Oversight Committee (advisory) meets annually in November; and
  • Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee (advisory) meets as needed
